Giovi's world

My painting has always been about movement: pressure, layering, drift. Water and wind are not motifs, but forces.

Flow, friction, course change

My work moves between painting, object-based work, photography and multimedia formats.

  • I’m interested in forces that refuse to stand still: pressure, friction, layering, drift and shifts in direction. Water and wind are not motifs to me, but models of movement — forms that become visible when they meet resistance. I work with broad gestures and fine traces: drips, abrasion, scratches, veils. It is a struggle between control and release, until rhythm and direction emerge from chaos.

There is something in it — a kind of rebellious resistance.
