Blackbooks
In the Blackbooks, the different modes of expression in Giovi’s artistic practice come together and overlap. They include collages made from his own photographs, drawings, sketches, material experiments and studies for sculptures, often combined with newspaper fragments or images from magazines.

Materials and ideas begin to interact under the artist’s hand and evolve through the process. The Blackbooks become an informal meeting point for different impulses — a space into which Giovi allows ideas to flow, before they gradually return in another form and become part of his artistic reality.
