Between pressure, movement, and presence, I seek the form that sustains.

Works situated between painting, sculpture, photography, space and public context.

  • Giovi is an Austrian artist with a transdisciplinary practice encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, and site-specific and multimedia works. He studied Multi Media Art with a focus on illustration, photography, and film, graduating with a Master's degree (Mag.(FH)) from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in 2006.


    His works have been shown in exhibitions and projects in Austria and internationally, including Duktus Loki (Reiberei, Moserei, Scharnstein (2021), Aufbruch in innere Gebirge (permanent exhibition, Scharnstein 2019–2020), No plan (Pro Arte Hallein 2018), Landscapes (Vienna 2016), Underwaterlove (Linz 2013) and the oily bird won't catch a worm (Christchurch / NZ 2011).


    The selected projects include sculptures and objects for Peter Sellars' Idomeneo at the Salzburg Festival (2018–2019), stage design / stage painting for the Unlimited Festival in Wels (2023), the art-in-architecture project The Waves (2014), the large sculptures Schwall (2010) and Alma Sulis (2009), and the design of the Philyra Nature Conservation Prize for the state of Upper Austria (2015–2020).


    Publications include the NABASTE magazine (2022 / 2023), texts and contributions in the Inselgespräche books No Plan , Better and WAR , as well as a contribution in Das Tote Gebirge in Trauner Verlag.
